Wilda Wong is an alum of the SDLA Institute and a participant in LEAD San Diego’s IMPACT class of 2017. Having emigrated from Hong Kong with her family at the age of 10, she has traveled to six continents and lived or worked in four, developing direct and concrete experience with diverse populations and environments along the way.
Wilda was a first-generation college student and graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Film Studies. With experience in journalism, photography, graphic design, nonprofit marketing, international development, capacity building and program coordination, Wilda has found her niche doing communications in the social sector, having done work with the Government Accountability Office, San Diego Repertory Theatre, Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest and the San Diego Workforce Partnership. She has served as interim chair of Peace Corps South Africa’s Diversity Committee, as well as on the social committee of the San Diego chapter of the Young Nonprofits Professionals Network and the board of the local chapter of Tam Tam Mandingue.
In her spare time, Wilda helps program Pacific Arts Movement’s annual San Diego Asian Film Festival and takes copious photos of her cat, Steve Webster.
