Sarah Saez, One of Sixteen Women of the Year from the 80th Assembly District
The good news keeps coming for SDLA alumnae in recognition of their work in the community and continuing efforts to make San Diego a better place. Sarah Saez, 2014 Fellow, was selected by Assemblywoman Gonzalez as one of sixteen "Women of the Year" from her 80th Assembly District.
These honorees were selected from diverse sectors such as health, education, arts and culture, veteran support, and community service. Sarah was recognized for her work in Labor, specifically her tireless efforts to protect and promote the rights of the United Taxi Workers of San Diego. Saez was honored at a ceremony on March 20, 2015 at Southwestern College's Field House Theatre.

Jessica Nare, 2015 National Recipient of Bernice S. Tannenbaum Prize
The Hadassah Foundation selected Jessica Nare (2013 Fellow) as the national recipient of the Bernice S. Tannenbaum Prize in recognition of her leadership and work with Jewish Family Service of San Diego's Girls Give Back program. Jessica, as director of the program, leads by example for the future generation of young women leaders ensuring they receive hands-on experience through service, philanthropy and advocacy projects all the while encouraging these adolescents to build their self-esteem and leadership abilities.
Jessica will be honored at a special ceremony in New York City, New York on June 8, 2015 with hotel and travel expenses covered by the Foundation. In addition to the award, she will receive $2500 to be used for her professional development.
