SAN DIEGO, September 5, 2012 – The San Diego Leadership Alliance (SDLA) today announced the opening of the application period for the 2013 New Leaders Council (NLC) Institute, a leadership training program for young professionals.
The NLC Institute spans 10 days over five months and equips young leaders with the skills, opportunities, and relationships to make change in San Diego.
The training program focuses on a core curriculum of personal leadership development, entrepreneurship, communications, fund raising, political strategy, traditional and new media, and public speaking.
Designed to provide young leaders with the tools they need to take the next step in their careers, the training program is relevant to young leaders who work inside and outside of politics, with an emphasis on preparing young people to be engaged in civic life throughout their careers.
Applications for the NLC Institute are due on Sunday, November 11 and can be found here: www.sdleadership.org/apply
Ahead of the application deadline, a number of information sessions will take place throughout the San Diego area. At the info sessions, anyone interested in the NLC Institute will have a chance to hear from board members, selections committee members, and alumni from the program.
