Changing San Diego will not come from one election, one individual or one idea. We need a broad coalition of progressive San Diegans, working together to get us where we need to go.
As an organization, the San Diego Leadership Alliance (SDLA) is working to strengthen the progressive infrastructure in San Diego by bringing together a diverse cross-section of our community to build our skills and forge lasting relationships. The signature program of the SDLA, the New Leaders Council Institute (NLC), focuses on providing young professionals with training in critical skills to advance themselves and progressive interests.
We aspire to be a place where a broad spectrum of people can participate and work together toward a more progressive San Diego. We work hard to ensure that our Institute faculty, board members, mentors and Fellows come from various sectors and diverse backgrounds and sets of experience, to reflect the realities of our community—past, present and future.
Although progressives may not always agree on the path forward, SDLA encourages a healthy exchange of ideas. And, while some interests in San Diego are set on focusing on disagreements, we value finding common ground and pathways to agreement. We believe that we can engage in a debate of ideas and learning, and still come together to advance a progressive agenda.
Changing San Diego will not come from one election, one individual or one idea. We need a broad coalition of progressive San Diegans, working together to get us where we need to go. We thank our many supporters, participants and collaborators, and look forward to continuing our collective efforts.
