Current SDLA Fellow Monique Lopez is featured today in an article in the Voice of San Diego. The story covers her work using tactical urbanism to help community members build a community park in the Logan Heights neighborhood of San Diego.
Sarah Saez, One of Sixteen Women of the Year from the 80th Assembly District
The good news keeps coming for SDLA alumnae in recognition of their work in the community and continuing efforts to make San Diego a better place. Sarah Saez, 2014 Fellow, was selected by Assemblywoman Gonzalez as one of sixteen "Women of the Year" from her 80th Assembly District.
These honorees were selected from diverse sectors such as health, education, arts and culture, veteran support, and community service. Sarah was recognized for her work in Labor, specifically her tireless efforts to protect and promote the rights of the United Taxi Workers of San Diego. Saez was honored at a ceremony on March 20, 2015 at Southwestern College's Field House Theatre.Read more
