Appointments News: Alumna Gena Truitt to Serve on State Veterans Commission

Gena has been case man­ager at U.S. VETS since 2013. She was vet­er­ans advo­cate at Inter­faith Com­mu­nity Ser­vices from 2012 to 2013, fam­ily sup­port part­ner at Men­tal Health Sys­tems, Courage to Call in 2012 and assis­tant and intern in U.S. Sen­a­tor Bar­bara Boxer’s San Diego Dis­trict Office from 2011 to 2012. Gena served in the U.S. Navy from 2000 to 2004. She earned a Mas­ter of Social Work degree from the Uni­ver­sity of South­ern California.

Appointments News: Two SDLA Alumni to Serve on the Human Relations Commission

Char­lie Gillig and Jes­sica Nare of the San Diego Lead­er­ship Alliance (SDLA2013 Class have been appointed to the City of San Diego’s Human Relation’s Com­mis­sion, which, among other activ­i­ties, works to ensure that all city res­i­dents have equal access to eco­nomic, polit­i­cal and edu­ca­tional oppor­tu­ni­ties and equal access to ser­vice pro­tec­tion and accom­mo­da­tion in all busi­nesses and pub­lic agencies.
