Evan Henderson (he/him)
Evan Henderson has learned a few guiding lessons over time: success is the product of small efforts repeated day after day; we should strive to leave every place better than we found it; and we belong to one another.
Evan developed a commitment to detail through his studies. While he was not always cheerful about spending long days in the library instead of at the beach, the sum of his small, consistent efforts led him to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Psychology from Pepperdine University, a Master’s degree in International Economic Law from Sciences Po, and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
Evan has sought to strengthen the communities in which he has lived through his work. During law school, he spent a summer as a Rule of Law and Human Rights Fellow with Lawyers Without Borders. The following semester, he represented an anti-hunger nonprofit coalition through Georgetown Law’s Federal Legislation Clinic and helped build congressional support for its policy agenda. Evan later served as a summer law clerk with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program, where he provided technical legal assistance to the governments of low- and middle-income countries.
Evan’s belief in our shared responsibility to care for one another is reinforced daily in his current role as an eviction defense attorney at a local nonprofit. He is grateful to spend his days fighting for housing stability for low-income San Diegans.
