Jeanmarie Levy (she/her)

Jeanmarie brings her passions for advocacy, education, and technology to both her career and volunteer work. Being a first generation college student originally from Los Angeles, CA she began her career in Higher Education in order to help build systems that would better serve students. After serving in Education she pivoted to a career in Tech, where she is driven by the opportunity to design digital tools that help serve the most vulnerable populations, while also ensuring that there are avenues for building their careers.

Jeanmarie has led UX Design and Strategy for various products that help the user, but also enact systems change. Previously, she has worked alongside the US Department of Education to address the College Affordability Crisis by creating a product for first-gen students and lead the design for a Affordable Housing Product which enabled users to navigate the complex world of HUD and Affordable Housing. Jeanmarie also served at Code For America where she led in designing an app for the justice-impacted community in order to reduce recidivism.

Jeanmarie is a board member of San Diego Experience Design, volunteers at Mission Scholars, and is a member at San Diego Business for Good. She is also the Founder of a civic tech non-profit, Code For Santa Barbara - that helps pair volunteers with local governments to help them re-imagine their digital services.

She earned her BA from UC Santa Barbara and M.Ed from the University of Southern California and is new to San Diego.
