Jermaine Rocacorba (She/they/siya)
Born in the Philippines and raised in Southeast San Diego, Jermaine Rocacorba is invested in protecting the dignity and livelihood of working families, immigrants, and refugees. Jermaine is dedicated to defending democracy and civil rights with an unshakable commitment to prioritizing the power of the people and voices most impacted.
She has worked on progressive campaigns focused on housing development and tenant protections, challenging hypersurveillance in neighborhoods, and advancing anti-recidivism initiatives that value every member of society. With a strong foundation in community engagement, organizational leadership, and systems thinking, Jermaine approaches policy and advocacy with both strategy and heart. Her experience across local, state, and diplomatic
offices has sharpened her ability to navigate political spaces and build meaningful change.
A proud alumna of San Diego State University and Seattle University, Jermaine has also served as an educator at the University of Washington, supporting youth pathways to higher education. Jermaine is the co-founder of Pag-Asa Law Clinic, providing free to low-cost immigration legal services to Filipinos impacted by domestic violence and unlawful housing detainers.
In her free time, she supports local small businesses, explores arts and cultural spaces, and enthusiastically collects new hobbies.
