Mario Sanguinet (he/él)

Communications Manager, City of San Diego

Office of Council President Sean Elo-Rivera (District 9)

Mario Sanguinet currently serves as the Communications Manager in the Office of the San Diego City Council President. He’s also lectured at the college level since 2014, teaching students how to give presentations and make friends. Naturally, Mario has all the friends and talks goodly.

Outside of work he occasionally writes about San Diego’s art scene for Vanguard Culture, where his writing has won multiple awards (just two, but who’s counting). Way before that, he was born and raised on both sides of the San Diego-Tijuana border. He regrets not getting Global Entry sooner.

Mario graduated with a master’s and cum laude with a bachelor’s in Communication from San Diego State University. He was also the first in his family to attend and graduate from college and work a white-collar job.

Once a professor called him a “Renaissance man,” he tries to live up to that every day.
