Tamara Nogueira-Ramirez (she/her/ella)
Tamara Nogueira-Ramirez was born and raised in Southeast San Diego. Growing up in a mixed-status Mexican family shaped her commitment to immigrant justice and community advocacy. She earned her bachelor’s degree from UCLA in Political Science, with a concentration in Race, Ethnicity, and Politics and a minor in Mexican Studies.
While at UCLA, she held leadership roles in student government, coordinating advocacy efforts at the state and federal levels and supporting initiatives focused on higher education access and civic engagement. Professionally, Tamara is a California Notary Public and works as the Office Manager at a bilingual, plaintiff-side law firm serving primarily low-income and vulnerable Latino immigrant communities. Her work supports immigration, estate planning, and civil litigation matters, with a focus on accessibility and culturally competent legal services. Tamara is an alumna of the Chicano Federation’s inaugural Rising Leadership Training Institute and a member of Hispanas Organized for Political Equality’s San Diego Regional Leadership Institute and Hub.
Outside of work, Tamara is a social justice intern with UURISE and volunteers with the ACLU of San Diego & Imperial Counties, Alliance San Diego, and the Legal Aid Society of San Diego’s Restraining Order Clinic, supporting survivors of domestic violence, civil harassment, and elder abuse. She enjoys dance, photography, volleyball, high-quality coffee, and spending time with her two dogs.
