Lucero Maganda (she/her)
Deputy Director of Community Engagement and Latinx Liaison, Office of San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria
Lucero is a dedicated, bilingual professional with a commitment to social justice and a proven
track record of impactful work in government roles. As a DACA recipient, she has experienced firsthand the challenges and adversities faced by our immigrant communities, especially undocumented and mixed-status families. She spent many years advocating for immigrant rights and immigration reform and worked on various civic engagement campaigns.
Lucero's journey in public service began with a strong desire to work within the system to drive
tangible change, further impact, and create access for her community. Through her roles at California State Assemblymember Akilah Weber’s Office and now Mayor Todd Gloria’s Office, Lucero gained a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of governance, policy implementation, and community engagement.
In her current role, she works and supports historically disinvested communities, focusing on initiatives that address systemic inequalities and provide equitable access to government resources that all people deserve.
