Moira Tan (she/her/hers)
Moira Tan is a gender equity and healthcare policy expert with extensive experience advancing progressive, people-centered policy. Moira served in the Office of Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal in the U.S. House of
Representatives, supporting the Congresswoman’s leadership as the sponsor of Medicare for All and Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. In this role, she advanced legislative efforts on universal healthcare, reproductive health protections, and immigrant families’ access to public benefit programs. Before Congress, Moira worked at the National Women’s Law Center, supporting legal and policy advocacy on abortion access, Affordable Care Act nondiscrimination, and federal judicial nominations. Moira is deeply committed to the decolonization of health, decriminalization, and decarceration, and has spoken on these issues at Yale Law School, the Planned Parenthood Federation of
America, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is an alumna of the Movement Makers Leadership Program at the National Network of Abortion Funds and was Policy Co-Chair of Advocates for Youth’s Young Womxn of Color for Reproductive Justice
Collective National Leadership Council.
Today, Moira is the Advocacy and Government Affairs Manager at TrueCare, a federally- qualified health center, where she drives state and federal advocacy strategy, advises executive leadership on regulatory and political matters, and leads civic engagement initiatives expanding political power among underrepresented communities.
Moira is delighted to now live out her lifelong dream of making San Diego her home, where her days include exploring new matcha spots, attending reformer Pilates classes, dancing ballet and salsa, and learning new languages.
